The Friends of the Museum of the Plains Indian supports the preservation of North American Plains Indian culture and heritage through the arts and the Museum of the Plains Indian in Browning, Montana. We promote today’s individual artists and craftspeople and their work and seek to educate the public about Plains Indian traditional and contemporary lifeways. The Museum is a U. S. federal institution that, since 1941, has conserved and celebrated Plains Indian artifacts, information, and art from more than 20 tribes—the Friends are committed to support and, where possible, enhance those conservation and information activities.
